We will pick you up at 8am and start our 4 day tour from Marrakech to Merzouga. We drive over the Tizi n’Tichka pass (2260m/7414f) enjoying magnificent views of the mountains and Berber villages along the way. Stop for lunch and visit the World Heritage Site of Ait Benhaddou. (This famous kasbah has served as a backdrop for more than 20 movies.) Drive through Ouarzazate and continue toward the Rose Valley and Dades Valley, Skoura oisis with its authentic 19th century kasbah, the Valley of a Thousand Kasbahs and the Dades Gorge. Overnight stay in a hotel.
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure to Todra Gorge: a massive fault that rises up to 300 meters into a narrow valley with dense palm trees and Berber villages. After lunch in the gorge, we will drive to the great sand dunes of Erg Chebbi where you will take a camel ride (about an hour and a half) to get to your tents Nomadic Berbers, dinner, campfire, drum party and overnight in the desert.
After seeing the sunrise in the desert, we will return to Merzouga on the camels after breakfast, shower at the hotel and then start our journey to Ouarzazate through the Berber villages of the Atlas Mountains (Tinjdad, Tenghir-Todra Gorges, Boumalene-du-Dades) where we will arrive in the evening/night.
In the morning we leave Ouarzazate and visit the UNESCO protected site of Ait Ben Haddou. A very impressive Kasbah and well preserved fortress in Morocco. Many movies were filmed here, such as Gladiator. We leave Ait Ben Haddou and head towards the majestic Atlas Mountains. You will cross the High Atlas Mountains over Morocco’s highest road pass, the 2260m high Tizni Tichka, which offers impressive views of valleys, mountains and many Berber villages nearby.
